David Howlett became a board director of the San Joaquin Valley Clean Energy Organization in 2010. Employed by an electrical contractor in Bakersfield, he has been chairman of the Energy Committee of the Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce and co-chaired the Renewable Energy committee of the Kern County Economic Development Corporation.
“I love renewable energy,” he said, adding that the Valley’s ample sun, large cow population and strong wind resources near Tehachapi make solar, methane digesters and wind energy natural fits in the San Joaquin Valley.
The SJVCEO, he said, can help advance those programs.
“There is such a need for us,” he said.
