Jurisdictions will need a comprehensive energy audit before they can submit their EECBG applications to the California Energy Commission. The energy audit should include municipal facility specific energy efficiency measures that will (or can) be undertaken and the expected energy savings for each measure. For cost effectiveness calculations, jurisdictions will also need to project installed costs for each measure. The Clean Energy Partnership is working on ways to determine projected installed costs.
There are three avenues for obtaining an energy audit: (1) your local utility; (2) a block grant from the CEC for technical support; and (3) private consultants (such as energy service companies).
