California proposes energy efficiency market overhaul with single administrator
Utility Dive - California regulators are mulling a proposed decision to allow local governments to continue collaborating on Regional Energy Networks (REN) aimed at rolling out energy efficiency efforts more flexibly, along with other changes designed to help consumers use less energy.

What’s Driving The US Military’s Energy Efficiency Makeover?
Clean Technica - The US military has been front and center in the renewable energy revolution. Military bases in the US have also become showpieces for microgrids and energy efficiency upgrades that foster resiliency and cut costs, too. As the wildfire situation in California demonstrates, the civilian world could also benefit from this double focus on renewables and resilience.

One Thing You Can Do: Look for the Energy Star Label
New York Times - You probably recognize it. A sticker on a fridge or a dishwasher: the Energy Star symbol. But what, exactly, does it mean? Energy Star is an energy efficiency certification program run by the Environmental Protection Agency. To get that sticker, a product must pass independent testing by an E.P.A.-recognized lab.

Energy-efficient homes improve quality of life
Yale Climate Connections - Building a well-insulated, airtight home with great ventilation and lots of natural light can cut way back on the energy needed for heating and cooling. But it’s not only good for the climate.

Survey Request: Local Public Agency Climate Capacity Survey
LGC - Local governments are invited to participate in a study of local agencies’ climate action capacity. This study will assist the Local Government Commission (LGC) to better understand how climate programs and projects might be helping to build public agency capacities in various ways and what kind of capacity building goals public agencies might have for their work moving forward.
